The war is over on the archipelago of Arrecquero. The truce between the northern and southern islands has been broken, and the Chinese armed forces are now occupying the entire territory. 
Fee wakes up in a makeshift hospital alongside a large number of seriously injured locals and her father, Kurk, who is in a coma. Because he is suspected of holding vital information on the admiral – the Chinese army's adversary – he is threatened with torture and imprisoned in a reeducation camp. But Lance, an ex-officer who betrayed his side, has something else in mind for their future – to save their lives, Fee will have to take part in the next World Games and give him his "American Dream".
